The Girl Behind the Camera

What's up Everyone? Helloooo (if you understand that reference, we're already friends). My name is Jaide and I'm a photographer based in Southern California. I specialize in weddings, elopements, and lifestyle sessions!

To keep it 100% real, I find writing these type of things absolutely terrifying. I went to a blog intro generator and typed in some information and it gave me this title: “Meet The Southern California Photographer Who's A Caffeinated, Self-Aware Sassy Traveler” so I’m rolling with it (:

I am not the greatest at talking about myself buuuut, here I go.

A Little Bit about Me

I'm a SoCal native and I've been shooting photos professionally for about 3 years now. I specialize in weddings, elopements, and lifestyle photography! I'm also a huge coffee addict and I love to explore new places.

I grew up in a city in Southern California and I've always loved taking pictures. When I was younger, I would take photos of my friends and family and the places we went. It wasn't until I was older that I realized that I could pursue photography as a career.

After high school, I attended the University of California, Riverside where I studied photography and studio art. After college (and in the middle of a pandemic), I officially started my business working as a freelance photographer.

I love what I do and I feel so lucky that I get to travel and take photos for a living. It's absolutely my dream job!

My Day to Day Life

In between photographing all kinds of love, I’m a full-time student at National University and a substitute teacher. I’m currently pursuing my Masters of Education in Inspired Teaching and Learning and am also obtaining my teaching credentials. When I’m not in class or working, I enjoy spending time with my close friends and family. We thrive on chaos and can often be found traveling somewhere on a whim or doing something local that popped up on someone’s instagram.

I start most days with a cup of coffee (or two) and some breakfast before heading to whatever school I'm at that day. I have a pretty packed schedule but try to make time for lunch with friends or studying in between classes and work.

Once I’m home from work, I like to relax for a bit before starting on any homework or freelance projects by watching some for cheesy Netflix movies or New Girl for the hundredth time.

I typically like to shoot in the evenings or weekends so that leaves me with a few hours to edit photos and work on other assignments.

Fun Facts About Me:

1. I just started a website design and branding business for creative entrepreneurs! Website and details to come soon!

2. I definitely drink more coffee than water. You can catch me with an Iced Shaken Espresso in my hand before every session!

3. I’ve been collecting records since I was fifteen! I’m a big fan of every kind of music.

4. I’ve always wanted to buy and live in an RV. I love to travel and would live on the road if I could!

5. I lived in Dallas for a year! It was a super impulsive decision, but an incredible experience! I worked at a wonderful preschool that completely changed the plan I had for my life (in the best way possible).

6. I once paid a psychic on Etsy $7 to draw my soulmate. If ya know this man, let me know 😂

7. I consider pizza a main food group.
