SHAWNA + JUSTIN || WHITE ROCK LAKE || DALLAS, TEXAS
In April, I met Shawna and Justin on the hills of Winfrey Point of White Rock Lake in Dallas, Texas. They wanted to capture warm, lighthearted engagement pictures that showed their love and their goofiness towards each other.
Shawna and Justin met in college - Justin was a baseball player and Shawna played softball. Shawna said the first thing Justin said to her was "how come I've never seen you before? You're one of the most beautiful girls I've ever met."
They became close friends for the first year of college and when Shawna went to Arkansas for softball, Justin decided to ask her to be his girlfriend and they've been inseparable since.
Shawna told me "I followed him through his minor league career in baseball, driving my little Nissan Juke al over the country - with our chocolate lab Nolan, to watch his dad do what he loves."
They've been together for nine year now, and their friendship and love has grown stronger because of the support they have given to each other.
They explained that together they are really goofy, but they are complete opposites! Justin is critical, grounded, ambitious, and very simple - or in Shawna's words, "Virgo as f*ck". Shawna is more adventures, spontaneous, and very hippie like. At times they may clash, but always keep each other grounded.
