What's in my camera bag?

Every photographer has their own different style. You need to find what works for you and build a kit that is perfect for you. I'm going to show you whats in my camera bag and talk about why I use each piece of equipment and what it does for me.

Camera Body

I shoot with my Nikon Z6ii and it is an absolutely game changer! I have always shot with Nikon - I'm not even sure I know why. It was just the first camera I bought myself as a child and I have an absolute devotion and loyalty to it.

If I'm shooting a wedding, I bring my handy dandy Nikon D3300. I know, I know - it's old. But the first year and a half of my business was all done using this bad boy right here. I like to have an extra body with me so I can switch lenses quicker and this does the job!

Lenses

I just upgraded my main lens to a Z mount 35mm 1.8. It is a dream! I can get wide shots easily and up close and personal with the beautiful blurred bokeh in the back! I do almost every single session with this lens and it never fails me.

Before the upgrade, I used my AF-S 35mm 1.8 and used an adapter piece.

It worked well, but the autofocus can be finicky.

My other go-to is a AF-s Nikkor 55-200mm 4-5.6.

Great for zooming in without getting to close!

Other Gear

Battery Holder: I love this battery pack. It stores two batteries and gives you another space to grip!

SD cards: I’ve always used these SD cards! The capacity of GBs I use depends on the length of the session!

Adapter: I just got this adapter from amazon to use for my MacBook! It worked really well for two and a half years! Recently it’s not been working as well, but I’ll upgrade and get the same one because I liked it so much!

Hard Drive: I’ve been using these Seagate Portable 2TB External Hard Drives since college. I’ve tried other hard drives and have always had issues with them. I’ve never had anything happen to one of these babies!

Extra batteries: I always have three charged batteries with me! It may be an over-precaution but hey, just in case right?

Camera bags and Storage

I got my anti-theft camera bag off of amazon! It’s cute and it stores everything I need for my family and couples sessions! I could probably use more space for weddings, but for now this will do! I absolutely love it.

Miscellaneous Accessories

Dual Shoulder Leather Harness – Multi Camera Harness:

A need for weddings! I don’t usually use this for my lifestyle sessions, but I use it for every wedding I go to. Its easier to keep two bodies and two different lenses next to me than to switch back and forth during the ceremony!
